Revere, MA - 2nd Alarm, 516 Beach Street, 12-11-05 : December 11th was a busy day for Revere firefighters. Shortly before 7:00 Engines 1,5,3, Ladder 1 and the Deputy were dispatched to a report of a fire at 516 Beach Street. The fire was in a 2/12 house, and eventually went to 2 alarms. The cold weather caused ice to form on surfaces, making things very difficult for firefighters. The fire was placed under control at about 9:30. At 12:30 a box was struck for excessive smoke from the chimney at 17 Hasey Street. Engine 3 was first to arrive, and reported smoke showing. Working Fire, and 2nd alarm assignments were called to help bring the fire under control. Covering companies also answered multiple other emergency calls during the fires.

Revere, MA - 2nd Alarm, 17 Hasey Street, 12-11-05 : December 11th was a busy day for Revere firefighters. Billerica, MA - 3rd Alarm, 302 Concord Road, 12-4-05 : In the mid-afternoon Billerica firefighters responded to a fire at 332 Concord Road. A second alarm was quickly struck. The fire was in a large 3 story wood frame house. The flames spread rapidly, took full possession of the house, and vented out the roof. A third alarm was sounded, and all firefighters were ordered out of the building, and a defensive attack was made. The fire took place during a snowstorm, and snow hampered the firefighters' efforts.

Dedham, MA - 3rd Alarm, 5 Stergis Way, 12-2-05 : On December 2nd, 2005 Dedham firefighters battled a fire in a 500'x100' commercial building. The fire went to 3 alarms plus a special calls for 7 additional engine companies. Much of the building collapsed, and companies were on the scene all the next day, and had to call in a working fire assignment the next night for a large hotspot.

Marblehead, MA - 3rd Alarm, 36 Intrepid Circle, 11-12-05 : A suspicious three-alarm fire leveled a condo complex under construction on November 12, 2005. The Marblehead Fire Department responded to a call for an odor of smoke in the area of Intrepid Circle. Engine 2 was first due, and reported fire in a 4-story condo complex under construction. The fire escalated to three alarms, plus special calls for additional engine companies. The fire took full possession of the building, which eventually collapsed.

Winthrop, MA - 2nd Alarm, 108 Almont Street, 11-7-05 : Shortly after dinner time on November 7th, dispatchers at Winthrop 9-1-1 received a phone call reporting a fire at 108 Almont Street. Box 34 was struck sending Engine 1, Engine 2, and Ladder 2. A working Fire Signal was sounded shortly after the companies arrived, followed by a quick second alarm. Winthrop firefighters were aided by firefighters from Massport, Revere, and Chelsea. Boston and Everett covered the town.

Lynn, MA - 2nd Alarm, 532 Boston Street, 8-2-05 : Shortly before 2:00 PM on August 2nd, 2005 Lynn, Massachusetts Firefighters responded to a fire at 532 Boston Street. Engine Company 9 was first on scene. The fire quickly reached two alarms, as companies met heavy fire conditions. The battle was also complicated by hot and humid weather. The fire was in a building of two-story wood-frame construction. There were commercial businesses on the first floor, and an apartment above. All occupants were reported to have exited safely. The building suffered heavy fire and water damage.

Winthrop, MA - 2nd Alarm, 25 Pearl Ave, 5-4-05 : A 2-alarm fire in Winthrop, Massachusetts claimed the life of a 27-year-old female on May 4th, 2005. Around 5:40 PM Winthrop Fire responded to numerous calls for a house fire at 25 Pearl Avenue. Companies reported heavy smoke showing from a distance, and got reports of people trapped in the building. Engine Company 1 was first to arrive, and immediately ordered the second alarm to be struck. The fire is still under investigation, but is believed to have been purposely set by the occupant that perished. In addition, the woman's father was injured and taken to a hospital. Winthrop firefighters were assisted by crews from Massport, Revere, and Boston.

Somerville, MA - 6th Alarm, 504 Somerville Ave, 1-29-05 : Around 7:30 AM on January 29th, 2005 Somerville, Masachusetts Fire Department responded to a fire at 504 Somerville Avenue. First arriving companies had heavy smoke showing from a large 2 1/2 story woodframe house. The fire was already spreading to another 2 1/2 story woodframe house on the Number 2 exposure. Second, third, fourth, and fifth alarms were transmitted all within a few minutes. After making an aggressive interior attack firefighters were forced to evacuate the building of origin. Two ladder pipes, a tower ladder, and multiple handlines went to work in a surround and drown attack. Other firefighters fought the fire in the exposure building, which suffered heavy damage on the top floor. The sixth alarm was struck later in the fire when a need for relief crews arose. In addition to Somerville, firefighters from Belmont, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Lexington, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Winchester responded to the fire. The cause of the fire was believed to be a faulty electrical cord.

Revere, MA - 3rd Alarm, 708 Washington Ave, 1-19-05 : Shortly before 6:00 AM, on January 19th, 2005 Revere Massachusetts firefighters responded to a fire at 708 Washington Ave. Heavy smoke could be seen from a distance as first alarm companies responded to the scene. The deputy chief in charge of the shift ordered a second alarm while still responding to the fire. Firefighters were met with heavy fire conditions in the building, and through the roof. They made an attack, but soon found that conditions inside the building were too dangerous, and master streams were put into place. When the chief of department arrived on scene, he ordered a third alarm. The fire was in a 2 1/2 woodframe residential structure. Single digit temperatures made the job for firefighters very difficult. Ice covered the firefighters, streets, and ladders. Revere firefighters were assisted by firefighters from Boston, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Massport, and Winthrop. Fire stations were covered by companies from Lynn, Medford, and Saugus.
